Ms. Kuchar's Class
A big welcome to our new 3rd class who have all worked exceptionally hard this September!
We are aware that moving from junior school to senior primary school is a big change: a new building, new teachers, new rules and…lots of work! Thankfully, all our students have settled in really well and made friends and are working very hard!
These are some of the things we have been doing in our class this month.
In Geography, the students collected samples of leaves around the school yard. It was good fun! We learned that beech, oak and mountain ash are the most popular trees in our school garden.
In History, we are studying all about the Stone Age and everyone practised writing a diary entry “A Day in the Life of a Stone Age Boy/Girl”. There are some very creative writers in our class!
In Drama, we acted out scenes from the Stone Age times such as hunting an elk, picking up berries and mushrooms, making tools and building a hut.
In Art, the children drew sunflowers, inspired by the famous artist Van Gough!
In English, we are busy writing reports about our favourite animals.
In Irish, we are learning new songs, games and poems. For example, last week children enjoyed reciting “Plip, plop, plí, tá sé ag cur báistí”, a lovely Irish poem about the weather.
As you can see, we are a fantastic team here and I am really looking forward to getting to know your child more throughout the year.
