Ms. O' Shea's Class
It has been a busy time since the New Year and we have had lots of occasions to celebrate recently with St Brigid’s Day and the Chinese New Year. For St Brigid’s Day we made a Saint Brigid’s cross using art straws and gold paint. For the Chinese New Year, which began on the 29th January, we learnt about each year got named after an animal. This is the year of the snake.
The class have found it interesting reading about the famine in English and now we look forward to learning more about the Titanic. The children are also enjoying the novel ‘Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone’.
We have been lucky enough to have TU Dublin come in to facilitate the Try 5 programme. The children got to make their own ecosystems in a class jar which they are going to observe for the next month to be in with a chance to win a prize for their observations. It ties in nicely with an art competition with the theme ‘Water is Life’ that the class are taking part in.
Well done to the recent students of the week: Leighton, Harley, Ashling and Rolen.
