Ms. O' Shea's Class

We hope everyone enjoyed their pancakes for Shrove Tuesday and will have a nice Valentine’s Day. The children have each brought home their Trócaire boxes for raising money over the Lenten period. We also have a box in the class which we hope to help raise money for the 6th class children to offer up in church on the day of their confirmation. This year’s theme is water equality and the class have been learning how unfortunately not everybody has easy or equal access to clean water. It made us all feel grateful for the water we have and we will try to make an effort to not waste it unnecessarily.

Last week the fourth class went to An Draíocht to see ‘The Land of a Hundred Hills’ based on a Patrick Kavanagh poem. The children really enjoyed the music in the play. We have had 4 weeks of GAA coaching and it is great to see the pupils develop their hurling and football skills. Maybe some of the children will join the local St Peregrine’s GAA club.

We have been busy learning about fractions and decimals in Maths., Bia in Irish and we are coming to the end of our novel ‘The Boy Who Made Everyone Laugh’. The class have really connected with the story and characters of the novel. We are working towards writing our own stories which we hope you will enjoy reading when they are finished.

Well done to the recent ‘Students of the Week’: Jayden, Vita, Adam and Benas.
