Ms. O' Shea's Class
Welcome to Ms O'Shea's 4th class. We have had a busy September settling into 4th class. We are very lucky to have started swimming lessons on a Tuesday. This is a great opportunity for us to learn how to swim or improve our swimming skills. Swimming is such an important life skill to have. Our class will also be learning many other kinds of life skills in our 'Life Skills' programme on Wednesdays.
In Maths, we have been learning about place value and recapping over our tables. In English, we are continuing to read the novel 'The BFG' and we look forward to our BFG day once it is finished. In Gaeilge, we are making a big effort to have fun and talk about ourselves in Irish. The stories of the legendary Irish explorer, Tom Crean, and the myth of 'The Children of Lír' have really captured our imaginations in History. We used the 'Children of Lír' as inspiration for our artwork as the photos attached show.
A trip to An Draíocht to see the ballet 'When the Moon Spun Round' was organised for 3rds, 4ths and 5th classes. The children found it very enjoyable and were amazed by the talent of the dancers and musicians.
Well done to the first few 'Students of the Week' who were: Vita, Emma, Zoe and Astyn.
