Ms Malone's Class
Fáilte gach duine go rang 5, Ms. Malone. Ocober has been a great month but we are also looking forward to the Halloween break.
Swimming is almost done and we had a great time - many of us gained more confidence in the water. We are still taking part in the Marathon Kids programme - now each day we run 1400m and many of us can do it without stopping now! It finishes with a trip to Morton Stadium in Santry for the final mile by which time we will have run the equivalent of a marathon (42km!). More information can be found here https://marathonkidsireland.ie/
We are still reading the novel WONDER in english
We have covered a whole unit of work on Mexico in geography and The Mayan civilisation in history. We also designed some sugar skull mask for Dia de los Muertos whoch they celebrate in Mexico on November 1st which also ties in nicely with our Halloween celebrations here in Ireland. We also had fun using the chromebooks for research on the life cycle of a fish but blooket is still our favourite!
Students from Ms Ní Dhubhghaill's 6th class came to us to teach us all about periscopes and refraction of light. They helped us to make our own periscopes. There are definitely some budding scientists in 6th class.
