Student Absences

Under the Education Welfare Act 2002 the school is obliged to inform the Education Welfare Officer of all absences exceeding 20 days during the academic year.

Please Note, any child arriving to school after 10.30 will be marked absent.

Automatic texts will be sent to parents at each five day absence ie. once your child has reached five days, ten days, fifteen days etc., you will be notified of this through our Aladdin system.  

We launched ALADDIN CONNECT in 2020 which enables parents to record  the reason for their child's absence. We urge all parents to download this app to their phone.

Our roll is taken at 10.25am daily.  If pupils are not in class at 10.25am, they will be marked absent.  

The above procedure follows Department of Education regulations re. attendance.
